(Invited) Discussion on Preparation of Single-Walled Carbon Nanotubes for High-Performance Electronics

The unique structure and outstanding properties of single-walled carbon nanotubes (SWCNTs) make them top candidates for future high-performance electronics. Highly pure (>99.9999%) and dense (>125tubes/micron) SWCNTs are desired to present performance surpassing silicon-based devices and chips. Material preparation is the prerequisite of electronic applications. Selective synthesis, purification/sorting, and controlled assembling are procedures that associated with pathways to obtain SWCNT materials for high-performance electronics. However, it’s still not clear that what is the feasible strategy. More discussions and critical thinkings are in urgent need.
