Abstract
The sudden arrival of the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic has forced organizations and governments around the world to adopt new strategies, including social distancing and lockdown to limit the movement of people and virus spread. This situation has severely crippled the economy, so that and manufacturing activities have been disrupted, and it has impacted the demand and supply of numerous products. However, great efforts are being made to ensure the flow of essential goods and services to manage the pandemic situation. This clarifies the importance of establishing and maintaining strong smart manufacturing systems and policies during these containment times. Motivated by the importance of global manufacturing operations during the rapid spread of COVID-19, this paper reviews the existing literature. The main objective is to recognize and improve the understanding of the logistical features that have played a vital role during the COVID-19 pandemic. This study aims to present an analysis of the readiness of smart manufacturing. Based on the results of this study, it is concluded that Smart manufacturing-based artificial intelligence solutions are very important in times of uncertainty and pandemics. We believe that the findings of this study would be useful to enhance the decision-makers. Furthermore, maintaining efficient Smart manufacturing systems during and after pandemics is crucial. In this paper, we define a recovery strategy for efficient smart manufacturing while presenting a consistent decision support to identify, direct and arrange the recovery strategy using smart manufacturing.
