摘要
Lean is a production philosophy that is based on the concept of maximizing productivity while eliminating waste. Waste is defined as anything that is non-value-added to a product or service that the customer requires. The roots of lean management rely upon the Toyota company and its production system. Lean management is also named the Toyota Production System or just-in-time manufacturing. Lean manufacturing adopts many tools and techniques and uses these tools to eliminate different types of waste, such as overproduction, waiting time, and defects. Some lean management tools are value stream mapping, jidoka, just-in-time, kanban, poka-yoke, andon, and visual management.
