Computer learning environment as a basis for forming intercultural competence of high school students

The main features of the formation of students' educationalinterests are analyzed; the need for learning a foreignlanguage as the most important tool for interculturalenrichment and personality formation is substantiated; thecomputer learning environment is considered as the basisfor the formation of intercultural communicative competenceof high school students; a sample Internet project used inthe educational practice of the school is proposed. Currentapproaches to the problem are considered; a set of teachingtechniques that can be used at the English lessons withvarious age groups is suggested. Moreover, the latter canbe adapted according to different language proficiencylevels. The use of short-classroom language activitiesaimed at developing creativity and critical thinking at theEnglish lessons not only helps improve students' use oflanguage and their communication skills, but also help informing intercultural competence.
