Cardiovascular implications of Lung Cancer Screening Program: The Smokers health Multiple Actions (SMAC) Study

Limited data exists about the value of implementing a cardiovascular primary prevention screening program among subjects undergoing low-dose computed tomography (LDCT) chest scanning with no contrast administration for lung cancer screening. LDCT allows the assessment of coronary artery calcium (CAC) which may refine cardiovascular risk estimation for primary prevention. The aim of this study was to assess the cardiovascular risk profile of subjects enrolled in a lung cancer screening.
