An Intelligent Inter-Satellite Ranging System for High-Precision Satellite Constellation Configuration Control

In this article, we propose an intelligent inter-satellite ranging system for constellation configuration. After the analysis of our mission, four different relative positional states are proposed. Four different technologies are applied to achieve the measurements. Microwave ranging technologies are used to correct the relative attitude and laser ranging technologies are used to achieve the ultimate high-precision ranging. After the detailed design is given, many experiments were used to verify the specific system.
