Modern Eye Banking: Preservation, Type of Tissues, and Selection

Since the establishment of the first eye bank in the 1940s, their role has evolved in order to improve tissue quality and meet the surgeons’ needs. Eye banks play a key role in keratoplasties, from donor’s screening and tissue collection to tissue preservation, preparation and selection.
