摘要
Soft tissue sarcomas (STS) are an uncommon heterogeneous group of malignant tumors of mesenchymal origin that comprise less than 1% of all adult solid neoplasm. There are more than 50 subtypes of STS, arising from fat, muscles, blood vessels, etc. The last new WHO classification was published in 2020, and propose some changes. Because the diagnosis of STS is frequently unexpected, it’s preferred transferring patients with soft tissue masses of uncertain identity to tertiary centers specialized in sarcoma’s treatment, where decisions about approach diagnosis, evaluation, and therapy are made by STS experts in a multidisciplinary tumor board. There are many acceptable treatment alternatives, and it should be discussed by experts.
