Self-Healing Shipboard Power Systems

摘要
Electric shipboard power systems include a large proportion of dynamic and nonlinear loads relative to the power system capacity, which may reduce the stability margin. This chapter introduces concepts about the AC radial topology of marine electric shipboard power systems and self-healing control methods developed to enhance their survivability during battle damage or material casualty. The self-healing methodology includes features for activating control solutions before weapons hit and after faults occur to continuously operate the SPS in an optimal state. The self-healing methodology responds to the US Navy’s need to reduce manning requirements while increasing fight-through survivability. Further, the functionality of these methods is illustrated in this chapter through several case studies on a notional AC radial shipboard power system model.
