Influence of Nanoparticles in Application of Solar Collector-Based Energy Harvesting (SCBEH): A Review

Solar collector-based energy harvesting (SCBEH) is one of the most attractive sources of energy conversion with any kind of harmful effects like global warming and greenhouse gases emission. This system has the capability to convert a sufficient amount of solar energy into useful thermal energy. Conventional water-based solar collector provides thermal energy at a low rate but the advancement of the base fluid into nanofluids enhances this conversion rate. Nanofluids offer good thermal properties and are capable to produce a good amount of heat transfer coefficient and also enhance the thermal efficiency of the system. In this paper, the author summarizes some of the research work available in the area of application of the nanofluids in solar collector-based energy harvesting (SCBEH). Thermal efficiency enhancement up to 35% was achieved by the researcher by these of nanofluids as the working fluid.
