Implementation of eco-friendly nanomaterials in the bioprocessing industries has been an advantageous approach in increasing production and achieving economic sustainability. Owing to their unique physicochemical attributes, nanomaterials can form and/or fabricate varieties of bioactive compounds, making them very desirable substances in the field of the bioprocessing industry. Innovative approaches like a nanobiocatalyst, nanocapsule, nanosensors, nanofiltration, and nanomedicine are widely employed in food and pharmaceutical industries, adopting new ways of food processing, food packaging, drug delivery, and smart therapeutics for treating life-threatening diseases of humans and animals. Nanobiocomposites-based diagnostic imaging, targeted drug delivery, improving food quality, and enhancement of antimicrobial effect considerably lessen the use of traditional approaches. Innumerable beneficial applications of nanobiomaterials across diverse fields still need some toxicological clearance about their use in the living system. Herein, we illuminate the most recent advancement of using nanoparticles in bioprocessing and their potential applications in biomedical sectors.
