In silico methods and in silico toxicology

The aim of this work is to define the terms of in silico Toxicology and in silico methods used in modern Toxicology. A number of methods are being reviewed focusing on (Q)SARs tools, PBPK models and bioinformatics approaches. The chapter describes the efforts of Health and environmental Organizations and Agencies and their initiatives to support the use of such methods, highlighting at the same time their advantages. At last, the significant impact of in silico methods on toxicological sciences is highlighted.
