Robust EV's Speed Tracking Using Fractional Order Controller

The purpose of this study is to construct a robust Fractional Order PI (FOPI) controller to regulate the speed of an electric vehicle (EV), which includes a single electric switched reluctance motor (SRM). The robustness of such an application appears to be critical. In fact, the nonlinearity of the SRM characteristics prevents typical controllers from ensuring stable performance under different operating situations over the medium and long term. Furthermore, in order to overcome the key issue with this type of vehicle, which is autonomy, the control law must be relevant, robust against the crucial load torque and the vehicle's parameter change, and capable of guaranteeing the optimum performances for the contemplated vehicle.
