Reply to R.M. Adams, “Actualism and Thisness” (1979)

Abstract In this short paper, dating from 1979, Lewis considers Robert Adams’ actualism and haecceitism and argues against them. Lewis’s objections rely on distinguishing possibilities from possible worlds, structurally indiscernible twins, and the possibility which contains a person exactly intermediate between Lewis and Adams.
