X-Ray absorption fine structure study of schiff base cobalt (II) complexes of 5,5-dimethyl-2-(4-arylhydrazono) cyclohexane-1,3-dione

Abstract Hereby, we emphasize on X-Ray absorption fine structure of Schiff Base cobalt (II) complexes. The aryl groups studied were 4-bromophenyl and 4-nitrophenyl complexes. Different functional groups of complexes are confirmed by FTIR, and XRD demonstrates the crystalline structure of the compound. The chemical shift, the shift of K-edge and primary absorption maximum shift along with edge width have all been determined via XANES data analysis. In addition to this, we were calculated the ENC and percentage covalency. EXAFS data were used to calculate the first shell bond length using several graphical techniques. To get deep insight of bond length, we exploited the normalised Fourier transform spectra to derive information. Athena software was used to analyse the data. Origin software was employed to represent the data graphically.
