Design of Wave Energy Capture Structure and Mooring System with Additional Mass

Abstract There is huge amounts of wave energy in ocean, and how to convert its unstable energy into stable and sustainable output energy is a major problem that needs to be solved urgently. The power production performance of a wave energy capture device is closely related to its anti-wave performance, so the design of the mooring system is very important for it, In this paper, a truss-type three-sided wave energy capture device is used, and the mooring system with additional mass is used for research. The study found that the mooring system with additional mass blocks could significantly restrain the platform’s surge displacement under wind and wave loads.
