Optimal Methodology for Synthesis and Analysis of Straight Line Mechanism

In the wide array of the four-bar linkage mechanisms, a significant boost is occupied by mechanisms that have the ability to, in some segment of the executive trajectory, move in a straight line. There are different approaches to the synthesis of such mechanisms. This paper deals with the issue of obtaining a straight line trajectory of the movement of a member (point) of the four-bar linkage mechanisms, but also with the analysis of the trajectory line itself and the methodology of obtaining the most accurate direction of the trajectory line in relation to relative deviations from an absolutely straight line. The synthesis of the Evans-type hinged four-bar linkage mechanisms was carried out, the analysis of various options of the mentioned mechanism was carried out by changing the geometric parameters of the members, and then the obtained trajectory at the desired point of the mechanism was analyzed. Based on the results obtained as part of the motion analysis performed in the software package, an algorithm for obtaining minimal deviations from an absolutely straight line was formed, and then a methodology was formed for the synthesis of a mechanism for straight-line movement with a very accurate straight-line trajectory.
