摘要
The third most common Epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR) mutation in non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) is the exon 20 insertion mutations (E20ins), comprising 1-10% of total EGFR mutations. The Human Genome Variation Society (HGVS) provides nomenclature for accurate and consistent communication, helping to avoid confusion caused by inconsistent or ambiguous naming conventions. Despite this, several publications have described EGFR E20ins confusingly, highlighting the need for adequate description using HGVS nomenclature.
