28‐2: Eyebox‐expanded Maxwellian‐View Augmented Reality Display with a Color Holographic Optical Element

We develop a novel Maxwellian‐view near‐eye display design towards eyebox expansion, using a combiner of the full‐color holographic optical element. Particularly, the holographic optical element aims to expand the eyebox and is fabricated using time‐multiplexing exposure with RGB lasers. Leveraging a micro‐projector module as the display engine, a full‐color Maxwellian‐view near‐eye display prototype with an eyeglassstyle form factor is implemented with an expanded eyebox of 6mm×6mm.
