Using Ambient Energy to Power IoT Sensors

Recent advancements in technology have led researchers and companies towards the design and developmentSharma, H. ofHaque, A. low-powerJaffery, Z.A. energy harvesting circuits [1] to harvest energy from the ambient environment for powering miniaturised sensor nodes. There are various energy harvesting sources, including radiation energy, mechanical energy and thermal energy, as depicted in Fig. 3.1. Radiation energy is available in various forms, including sunlight, RF waves and Electromagnetic (EM) fields.
