摘要
The Front Cover shows a typical tumor microenvironment. The molecule (cyan) on the death sickle represents a general terpyridine derivative. Parent and glycoconjugate terpyridine ligands can act as potential anticancer agents. Indeed, this work studies different terpyridine derivatives and their iron(II) and copper(II) complexes, investigating them as possible drug candidates. Glucose–terpyridine conjugates overcome cellular membranes by exploiting GLUT receptors (pink in the picture). The inhibition of proteasomal chymotrypsin activity may be a cytotoxicity mechanism. Cover designed by Federica Panebianco. More information can be found in the Research Article by Roberta Panebianco, Graziella Vecchio et al.
