摘要
Virtual laboratory simulation for electronic circuit is essential for students to simulate a circuit anytime and anywhere unlike physical laboratory. In this paper, a virtual laboratory for basic electronic courses based on Java is developed. An interactive virtual simulator focusing on the topics of series and parallel diodes is designed. All electronic components are virtualized using Java Abstract Window Toolkit (AWT) which enabling users to build and draw circuits on demand. Then, users can obtain results immediately such as voltage drop, current and power values. Users will also be able to observe the simulation for current flow and voltage drop in the circuit. A number of default experiments focusing on series and parallel diodes were available for users. This virtual simulator is suitable for all students that are interested in learning the fundamental of electronic circuit using their computer while not worrying on issues such as space needs, equipment needs, scheduling logistics, safety concerns and resource sharing. Adopting digital technologies in higher education is integral to developing sustainable teaching and learning processes, such as those found with online simulation tools like Virtual Simulator for Series and Parallel Diodes as an invaluable asset in supporting sustainable e-learning; creating more resilient digital infrastructure which supports sustainable teaching/learning processes in higher education institutions. This research contributes to our collective knowledge on optimizing digital transformation for sustainability purposes within higher education environments.
