Preparation and characterization of Ba0·6Sr0·4Ce1-xEuxO3-δ solid electrolyte for IT-SOFCs

Sr,Eu co-doped Ba0·6Sr0·4Ce1-xEuxO3-δ(BSCE) powder were prepared by the solid-state method.The crystal structure,microstructure,and conductivity of BSCE were characterized using XRD, SEM,FT-IR,and electrochemical workstation.The research results indicate that ultrafine powder can be successfully prepared after calcination at 1000 °C for 10 h,and the powder has high sintering activity.After sintering at 1300 °C for 10 h,the BSCE sintered body was obtained with tightly bonded grains and clear grain boundaries,at 800 °C, the maximum ionic conductivity is above 9.3E-03 S cm−1, and the activation energy as low as 0.98 eV.
