Multidisciplinary collaborations for advanced water purification devices

Ground-breaking transdisciplinary research is often inspired by collaborations between different projects. Combining expertise across different domains presents challenges, but the reward is work that is greater than the sum of its parts due to the additive effects of collaboration. This is important when chemistry, materials science, and reaction engineering are combined to tackle a global challenge such as access to pure water. This backstory highlights the scientific and personal background of the early career researchers involved in our study in this issue of Device.
