摘要
Abstract The leaf extract of C. alata showed antifungal activity by inhibiting five pathogenic fungi. Saprolegnia sp. attack was one type of fungus that inhibits the hatchability of eggs. The leaves extract also can inhibit the growth of fungi on gouramy eggs. The objective of this study was to determine the effect and the optimal concentration of Cassia alata L. leaf extract on hatching rate, hatching time, prevalence, and survival of silver barb eggs ( Barbonymus gonionotus ) infected with Saprolegnia sp. This research was conducted at Balai Budidaya Ikan Krueng Bate, Aceh Barat Daya District in August 2020. Data were analyzed using a completely randomized design with ten treatment levels and two replications. The extract concentrations namely 0, 10, 20, 30, 40, 50, 60, 70, 80, and 90 ppm. The fertilized eggs of silver barb were infected by Saprolegnia sp. then treated by immersing in the extract. The result of ANOVA test showed that the Cassia alata L. leaf extract had a significant effect (P <0.05) on hatching rate, hatching time, prevalence, and survival of silver barb eggs. The best concentration of Cassia alata L. leaf extract was 60 ppm.
