Synthesis of Rice Husk Nanosilica using the Hydrothermal Method

Synthesis of rice husk nanosilica was carried out using hydrothermal methods at various temperatures and times and their characteristics. The stages of synthesis include sample preparation, nanosilica synthesis, and characteristics. The reaction temperature variations used are 120°C, 150°C, and 180°C, and the reaction time is 2 hours, 4 hours, and 6 hours then titrated using sulfuric acid until it reaches pH 7-8. XRF analysis results showed silica (SiO2) content of rice husk ash at 98.31%. Synthesized nanosilica has the largest particle size of 27.44 nm at a temperature of 180°C for 6 hours and the smallest size of 15.40 nm at a reaction temperature of 120°C and a reaction time of 6 hours. The nanosilica produced is multiphase, which is cristobalite, quartz, and coesite phases.
