Standards Overview

In this chapter, we provide a brief history of standards in technology and engineering education, along with a description of the development process that led to publication of Standards for Technological and Engineering Literacy: The Role of Technology and Engineering in STEM Education (International Technology and Engineering Educators Association [ITEEA], 2020). This is followed by a short discussion of the content and structure of the yearbook. Finally, we reflect on the role of teachers and teacher educators in implementing the standards.
