Abstract
In the presented work, with the help of a physical experiment, the influence of the location of inhomogeneity during the uplift of a primitive block of the mantle is studied. A model setup has been created that makes it possible to visualize the processes of filtration and deformation in a porous medium. In the experimental setup, the primitive part of the mantle is modeled by a list of a porous medium, the inhomogeneity is represented by a fixed impenetrable obstacle, the Young's modulus of which is three orders of magnitude greater than the Young's modulus of the medium. The liquid flow simulates the rise of the melt and the increase in the volume of the melted mass above the rising block. The paper considers three different options for the location of an impenetrable fixed obstacle relative to the medium, one of which is the sill. In the course of experiments, it was noticed that before destruction for different locations of obstacles there is a different bending of the modeling medium. The destruction occurred at the junctions of the media between the rising block and the compensating block. This makes it possible to state about the shear stresses between these two blocks. Different bends of the modeling medium lead to different shear angles at the boundaries of the media. Taking this into account, shear stresses are calculated for each position of the inhomogeneity.
