The link between inflammation and hemostasis in endometriosis: a call for research

•Since inflammation triggers an hypercoagulation status in several chronic disorders, this may be also valid in endometriosis.•In endometriosis, the hemostasis system might be overactivated.•GWAS data suggest a causal effects of some genetically predicted plasma levels of coagulation factors and endometriosis.•Women with endometriosis might be at higher risk of cardiovascular diseases due to the disease-related inflammation.
