摘要
The development of the Multiple Intelligences Assessment Scale for Sport and Physical Education (MIAS-SPE) was driven by the recognition of the diverse intellectual capacities and talents students possess within the domain of sport and physical education. The aim of the study is to provide a comprehensive and multidimensional assessment tool specifically tailored to evaluate multiple intelligences within the context of sport and physical education. Through a systematic process of item generation and refinement, a pool of items was developed to measure each of the proposed intelligence domains. The MIAS-SPE underwent extensive validation procedures to establish its reliability and validity. Data collection was conducted across different educational settings and age groups. Psychometric analyses, including factor analysis, internal consistency, and convergent and discriminant validity, were employed to assess the scale's psychometric properties. The content validity assessment revealed satisfactory validity levels with adequate Item Content Validity Index (I-CVI) and Scale Content Validity Index (S-CVI). The exploratory factor analysis (EFA) and confirmatory factor analysis (CFA) demonstrated a robust structure, consisting of a first-order 32-item structure with eight factors (Spatial, Naturalistic, Logical-Mathematical, Intrapersonal, Bodily-Kinesthetic, Interpersonal, Verbal-Linguistic, and Rhythmic-Musical). Both the EFA sample and CFA sample exhibited strong internal consistency, indicating stability and consistency of the derived eight sub-scales. The convergent validity analysis indicated that the items reliably measured their respective factors, while the discriminant validity analysis supported the distinctiveness of the factors and affirmed the structural model of the questionnaire. The MIAS-SPE represents a significant advancement in the assessment of multiple intelligences within the context of sport and physical education. By recognizing and measuring a broader range of intelligences, the scale will contribute to a more comprehensive and inclusive understanding of intelligence and guide tailored instruction and assessment strategies in sport and physical education settings.
