Multidisciplinary Design Optimization Investigation of Air-Cooled Turbine Blade for Marine Gas Turbine

Turbine blades work under harsh environments, which can have a great effect on the performance of gas turbine engines. With the rapid introduction of technologies, multidisciplinary design optimization (MDO) technology is gradually being used for complex systems. The MDO technology for an air-cooled turbine blade was investigated in this paper according to its design process. The MDO process was applied to an air-cooled turbine blade of marine gas turbine. After optimization the maximum temperature of blade was decreased by 19K. Both the maximum displacement and stress of blade were decreased, meanwhile the efficiency was increased.
