Abstract
Post-graduate training has been shown to contribute to delayed childbearing and increased rates of infertility amongst female surgeons [1]. However, previous research has been limited to trainees in operative specialties. Determining female trainees’ interest in oocyte cryopreservation as a means of fertility preservation and understanding barriers they may face—across both medical and surgical specialties—can help inform Graduate Medical Education (GME) policies on how to best support their trainees’ family planning efforts during and beyond training.
