This chapter provides a practical approach to the imaging evaluation of cardiac disorders in children, with an emphasis on radiographic interpretation and congenital heart disease (CHD). While echocardiography remains the mainstay for such assessment, front-line radiologists may nonetheless be the first to suggest CHD or recognize its potential pre- or postsurgical complications; thus, a solid framework is required. Increasingly utilized advanced imaging modalities such as computed tomography and magnetic resonance imaging as well as pertinent clinical data and treatment strategies are also highlighted.
