摘要
Positioning methods with an Intelligent Reflecting Surface (IRS) to enable control of the desired reflection direction has been studied. In the conventional Time of Arrival (TOA)- based positioning, the User Equipment (UE) is assumed to be in a coverage hole. In this case, the direct path between the Base Station (BS) and UE is completely blocked, and only the cascaded BS-IRS and IRS-UE paths can be obtained. However, since the UE could be in LOS of BS, there is concern that the error would be larger in this case due to differences in the characteristics of the paths. Therefore, in TOA-based positioning with IRS, it is necessary to identify the received signal as a direct or cascaded path. In this paper, we propose a TOA-based positioning scheme with IRS, including direct path/cascaded path identification to improve the positioning accuracy.>I>I Numerical simulations show that the proposed positioning improves the positioning accuracy compared to positioning approaches that do not consider whether the paths between the BS and UE are direct or cascaded.
