Stem curriculum delivery in tertiary institutions and security challenges in nigeria: implication for quality education

The study is on STEM curriculum delivery in tertiary institutions and security challenges in Nigeria: Implication for quality education. This article highlights the various security challenges in the study area as it impacts the educational system in teriary institutions. The study employed a descriptive survey design. Three hundred and fourteen undergraduate students and lecturers from tertiary institutions in Southeast, Nigeria were used for the study. Questionnaire on Security challenges and STEM curriculum delivery in tertiary institutions was used to collect data for the study. Three research questions were answered using frequency percentage, mean, and standard deviation. The results showed that there are prevalent security challenges in tertiary institutions in Southeast, Nigeria, There are impacts of insecurity on effective STEM curriculum delivery and measures to be adopted in managing the security of school plants for effective STEM curriculum. The study recommended that the school management should take the issue of security as a matter of priority and so allocate money for the purchasing of such safety and security building equipment as video surveillance (CCTV), sprinkler system to control fire damage, metal dictators, iron doors, employ armed response services and secured car park.
