Summary and outlook

摘要
This chapter provides a summary and outlook with respect to the next phases in the scholarly examination of the geography of entrepreneurial psychology. It makes clear that, conceptually, the geography of entrepreneurial psychology is based on micro-foundations of the psychology of entrepreneurship at the individual level. The field applies these concepts and constructs at the geographical level (e.g., regional personality differences), but also adds an important macro-psychological perspective that highlights regional psychological mechanisms that truly operate at the regional level. The chapter goes back to the poplar concept of “a vivid startup culture” and summarizes the single chapter in this book. It concludes that entrepreneurship is not only a highly individualized phenomenon, but also has a certain collective component shaped by the collective psychological environment. Growing research evidence shows that collective psychological factors and mechanisms do matter for individual entrepreneurship and it is thus important to emphasize that psychological approaches are not only useful to understand entrepreneurial individuals, but also whole regions and their collective economic vitality.
