Colony coloration varies from white to light yellow. The major fatty acids are C 18:1 ω7 c and C 14:0 3‐OH, and the prominent respiratory quinone is Q‐10 along with minor amounts of Q‐9 and Q‐11. The type strains are isolated from soil, while some environmental strains are reported from soil contaminated with petroleum products. DNA G + C content (mol%) : 63.5–64.5.
