Abstract
Students who display distractive or disruptive behaviors are present in almost every classroom in every school. Relatively minor inappropriate classroom behaviors are the most common behavioral concerns reported by teachers. Classwide positive behavior supports (PBS) may be essential to integrating students who demonstrate behavioral problems in inclusive classroom settings. PBS is well-suited to helping students with behavioral problems adapt to general education classrooms so that intellectual, social, and emotional growth can occur. The classroom management system known as the Color Wheel incorporates three sets of rules, public cues to indicate which set of rules students are expected to follow at any given moment in time, and transition procedures for switching from one activity to another and from one set of rules to another. The use of positive peer reporting was shown to be effective in altering the social status of students and enhancing the quality and quantity of social interactions of students.
