Abstract
This article analyses the Argentine architect Mario Buschiazzo’s professional career prior to the creation of the Institute of Latin American Art and Aesthetic Studies, which he chaired for over twenty years at the University of Buenos Aires. Our reading highlights his participation in public institutions dedicated to the conservation of cultural heritage, and the delimitation of a privileged scenario within the academia context. The main idea we hold is that his professional interventions since mid-1930s were oriented towards the design of a profile that would let him be pointed as a specialized voice in art and architecture studies.
