Abstract
Abstrak.Suatu penelitian tentang performa domba lokal jantan yang diberikan limbah serai wangi (Cymbopogon nardus) fermentasi sebagai pengganti sebagian pakan basal. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan di Laboratorium Lapangan Ilmu dan Teknologi Ternak Potong Program Studi Peternakan, Fakultas Pertanian, Universitas Syiah Kuala Darussalam Banda Aceh, berlangsung selama 86 hari mulai dari tanggal 12 Mei sampai dengan 05 Agustus 2019. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui performa domba local jantan yang diberikan limbah serai wangi yang difermentasi dengan inokulum EM4 sebagai pengganti sebagian pakan basal. Materi yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah 4 ekor domba local jantan ekor tipis dengan umur 18-24 bulan dan berat badan 23kg-26kg. Rancangan penelitian yang digunakan adalah Rancangan Bujur Sangkar Latin (RBSL) dengan 4 perlakuan dan 4 periode. Perlakuan R0 adalah tanpa pemberian limbah serai wangi fermentasi (kontrol), perlakuan R1 pemberian limbah serai wangi fermentasi (10%), perlakuan R2 pemberian limbah serai wangi fermentasi (20%), perlakuan R3 pemberian limbah serai wangi fermentasi (30%). Data penelitian yang diperoleh dianalisis menggunakan ANOVA (Analysis of Variance). Parameter yang diamati meliputi konsumsi pakan, pertambahan bobot badan harian dan Konversi Pakan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pemberian limbah serai wangi fermentasi 10%-30% tidak berpengaruh nyata (P0.05) terhadap konsumsi pakan, pertambahan bobot badan harian dan Konversi Pakan. A study of the performance of local male sheep given fermented lemongrass (Cymbopogon nardus) waste as a partial replacement for basal feed. This research was conducted in the Field Science and Technology Laboratory of Cattle Slaughtering, Animal Husbandry Study Program, Faculty of Agriculture, Syiah Kuala University, Banda Aceh, lasted for 86 days starting from May 12 until August 5, 2019. The objective of this study was to determine the performance of local sheep fed with lemongrass waste. fragrant fermented with EM4 as a microbial catalysator of feed fermentation. The material used in this study were 4 local male thin tailed sheep with ages 18-24 months and body weight of 23 kg-26 kg and using the Latin Square Design (RBSL) with 4 treatments and 4 periods. The R0 treatment was without the provision of fermented lemongrass waste (control), the treatment of R1 was the provision of fermented lemongrass waste (10%), the treatment of R2 was the provision of fermented lemongrass (20%), the treatment of R3 was the provision of fermented lemongrass waste (30%). The research data obtained were analyzed using ANOVA (Analysis of Variance). Parameters observed were feed consumption, daily body weight gain and feed conversion. The results showed that the provision of 10% -30% fermented lemongrass waste did not significantly affect (P 0.05) on feed consumption, daily body weight gain and feed conversion.
