摘要
Lagenandra erosa, considered to be extinct from its original locality, Sri Lanka, is rediscovered nearly half a century after its original description. The species was first described in 1978 based on specimens imported from Sri Lanka to Europe at the beginning of the nineteen seventies as aquarium plant, with no information on locality. The present rediscovery of L. erosa enabled us to update the original description from its natural populations with its locality. The conservation status of L. erosa is downgraded from Critically Endangered (Possibly Extinct) CR (PE) to Critically Endangered category under Criterion B1ab (ii) + B2ab (ii).
