Genetics of adhd and its utility in science and clinic

Attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) is one of the most prevalent and heritable life-long neurodevelopmental disorders, affecting about 5% of the population. Individuals with ADHD are at high risk for not completing their education, facing difficulties in social integration and employment, being incarcerated and suffering fatality from an accident, presenting high societal and economic burden. To date, the etiology of ADHD is not fully understood.
