Biointelligent production systems Towards circular, networked, demand-driven on-site production of goods

Biointelligent production enables a sustainable value creation. This requires both the development of technological innovations that are compatible with the concept of biointelligence and the development of structures and frameworks that enable the sustainable application of such systems. This paper describes the fundamentals of biointelligence and discusses corresponding technologies as well as a possible framework of biointelligent production. Finally, challenges of biointelligent production are described.
