Design and Application of Technical Supporting System for Inter-Provincial Power Spot Market

Inter-provincial power spot market is beneficial to the mutual assistance of power surplus and shortage and the optimal allocation of energy resources on a large scale, and has been in trial operation for more than one year. This paper firstly introduces the inter-provincial spot market trading mechanism, composes the day-ahead and intra-day market trading processes, and analyzes the enhancements of the inter-provincial spot system compared with the inter-regional system. Next, the general framework, business functions, key technologies, clearing models and algorithms of the inter-provincial spot market technical support system are clarified. Then the actual operation of the system is introduced, and the operational effectiveness is evaluated in terms of social welfare, environmental value, and social value. Finally, the future development of inter-provincial power spot trading is considered and summarized.
