A Noval Calculation Method of In-Situ Stress in Tight Sandstone Reservoir When Density Logging Curve Deficient

To calculate the in-situ stress of tight sandstone reservoir by density logging curve and DTL logging curve is a commonly technical measure in oilfield. However, the deficiency of density logging curve may be caused by the absence of density logging in the field testing, which makes it impossible to calculate the in-situ stress of tight sandstone reservoir. Based on this, taking the Wuqi Chang 6 reservoir in western Ordos Basin as the research object, we firstly use the DTL logging curve to reconstruct the density logging curve and verify the reconstructing density logging curve equation by RMSE and MAE. Secondly, we calculate the vertical stress and horizontal stress by density logging curve and Huang's model respectively. Finally, the accuracy of the calculation method is verified with the published reservoir stress data in the study area. This study can provide a new method and guidance for calculating the in-situ stress of tight sandstone reservoir when the density logging curve deficient in the field.
