Thin-film Transistor-based Tribotronic Artificial Synapse with Neurosensory Behavior.

Here, an artificial sensory neuron consisting of a TENG-based receptor and a TFT artificial synapse has been proposed. The presynaptic spikes are generated by the triboelectric potential to significantly reduce the power consumption of the artificial synapse. The mechanism of triboelectric potential regulating the channel current of the artificial synapse has been studied. In addition, the artificial sensory neuron exhibits neural sensing behavior of EPSC enhancement under continuous pressure stimuli. On this basis, This device could be utilized on robots to monitor pressure variations thereby enabling robots to respond to external stimuli.
