Primary Study of SGBG/PHBV Applying to Tissue Engineering of Dentin-pulp Complex-like Structures

Abstract
Objective To investigate the biocompatibility between sol-gel bioactive glass(SGBG) /poly-3-hydroxybutyrate-co-3-hydroxyvalerate(PHBV) and porcine dental papilla cells(pDPCs) so as to provide the basis for the choice of tissue engineering scaffold material of dentin-pulp complex-like structures.Methods pDPCs cultured in vitro were collected and seeded on the three-dimensional scaffolds of SGBG/PHBV.Cell growth in the scaffolds was observed by scanning of electronic microscope.Results pDPCs adhered and proliferated well on the scaffolds of SGBG/PHBV.Conclusion SGBG/PHBV is worth of further study as the scaffold material of dentin-pulp complex-like structures engineering.
