Kinetics of Growth of Potassium (Sodium) Fluosilicate Crystal

The effects of initial concentration,solution temperature,stirring rate and the nature of the hanging piece on potassium (sodium) fluosilicate crystal growth from phosphoric acid solution have been investigated based on static method.The results show that the crystal growth rates greatly increase and the induction periods shorten with the increase of initial concentration,stirring rate has little effect on the crystallization rates,and that the crystal growth takes place by a surface controlled process,the amount of (Na,K) 2SiF 6 deposited on the hanging piece could be greatly reduced for polychloroethylene and polytetrafluoroethylene plastics.In addition,the growth kinetics equation and the relationship between supersaturation and induction periods are obtained according to the test results.
