Abstract
The synthesis of Bi2MoO6 photocatalytic material was carried out at different hydrothermal temperatures (140 degrees C, 160 degrees C, 180 degrees C), and the influence of hydrothermal temperature on its microstructure and photo-catalytic performance was investigated. Scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and transmission electron micro-scopy (TEM) images revealed that Bi2MoO6 exhibited a sheet-like morphology. At a hydrothermal temperature of 160 degrees C, it had a specific surface area of 17.4 m2/g and an absorption edge at 470 nm, demonstrating the optimal photocatalytic performance. The first-order reaction rate constant for the photodegradation of methylene blue (MB) reached 0.046 min-1.
