摘要

•The new bis(β-Br-BODIPY) 1 dimer were synthesized and characterized;•Dye 1 exhibits efficient fluorescence and 1O2 generation in nonpolar solvents;•1@ZIF-8 nanoscale delivery systems with pH-controled dye release were obtained.•Water-soluble nanoparticles of 1 were achieved by using Pluronic® F127 micelles.•The resulting bis(β-Br-BODIPY) delivery systems are promising for PDT and APDT.
